Terraces and Federation cottages Newtown, Enmore, Annandale and Balmain are full of narrow terraces with steep staircases, tight landings and low doorways. We check access before moving day, dismantle beds, wardrobes and tables where needed, and protect walls, banisters and floors. When an item won't fit up the stairs, we can hoist it over the balcony using professional straps and padding.
Narrow streets, laneways and parking Many Inner West streets are one-way, lined with parked cars or too narrow for a large truck. We plan where the truck will stand, use rear lanes when they give better access, and let you know if a council parking permit is worth arranging. The shorter the walk from truck to door, the fewer hours on your invoice.
Apartments and warehouse conversions Newer apartment blocks in Marrickville, Ashfield and Lewisham, and converted warehouses in Leichhardt and Rozelle, often need a booked lift, a loading dock and a public liability certificate. We contact building management in advance and protect shared areas.
Smaller trucks for tricky access For tight streets and low-clearance car parks, we can use a smaller vehicle to get closer to your door.

Most local moves are charged by the hour, from the time we arrive to the time we finish unloading, plus a 30-minute call-out fee that covers tolls, fuel and travel to and from our base. As a guide, 2 movers and a truck start from $180 per hour, and 3 movers and a truck are $270 per hour.
What changes the price most in the Inner West:

Do you need a parking permit for the truck? Not always. For most Inner West streets we find a legal spot close to your door. On busy or narrow streets, a council parking permit can make moving day much smoother. We'll tell you when we think it's worth arranging.
Can you move furniture up narrow terrace stairs? In most cases, yes. We assess the access beforehand, dismantle what needs dismantling and protect walls and banisters. If an item truly will not go up the stairs, we can often hoist it over the balcony instead.
Can you provide an insurance certificate for my building? Yes. We hold public liability insurance and send the certificate directly to your building manager or strata before moving day.
How far ahead should I book? Weekends and the end of the month fill up first. For those dates, booking 2 to 3 weeks ahead is a good idea. Midweek moves are often available at shorter notice.
What can't you move? We can't connect or disconnect gas appliances, and we can't transport highly flammable items such as gas bottles or propane tanks.
Do you move from the Inner West to the Gold Coast or Brisbane? Yes. We run regular moves between Sydney, the Gold Coast and Brisbane, with dedicated-truck options.
