Moving from Sydney to Coolangatta takes more preparation than a local move. Along with packing your belongings, you need to coordinate collection, delivery and access at both properties.
At Meticulous Removals, we have helped clients relocate from Sydney to Coolangatta. The photo on this page captures the coastal view from one of those moves. Here are some practical things to organise before your own interstate relocation.
Confirm access at both properties
Before booking, let your removalist know about stairs, lifts, narrow driveways and the distance between the truck parking area and your front door. Photos or a short video can help explain the access and the furniture involved.
If you are moving into an apartment in Coolangatta, check with building management whether you need to reserve a lift or loading area. Confirm any restrictions on moving hours and vehicle height before agreeing on a delivery time.
Prepare an accurate list of what is moving
Include furniture, boxes, outdoor items and anything stored in the garage. Mention large or awkward pieces early, especially if they may need dismantling or could be difficult to fit through doorways.
If your inventory changes after receiving a quote, tell your removalist before moving day so the truck space and workload can be reassessed.
Pack for an interstate journey
Use sturdy boxes and wrap fragile items individually. Keep heavier items, such as books, in smaller boxes, and label each box with its destination room.
Discuss protection for televisions, glass furniture and other delicate pieces with your removalist beforehand. Keep screws and fittings from dismantled furniture together in labelled bags.
Coordinate your arrival and delivery
Confirm your collection and delivery arrangements before booking flights or organising key handovers. Make sure someone can provide access at the destination.
Keep medication, important documents, chargers, toiletries and a change of clothes with you. Having your essentials available makes settling in easier while you unpack.
