Moving a High-Rise Apartment in Bondi Junction, Sydney

An apartment in the heart of Bondi Junction with views across Sydney is a pretty good place to finish a delivery. This move gave us a chance to enjoy that outlook, but the real work was coordinating everything between the truck, the lift and the apartment.

In a high-rise building, having an organised team makes a big difference. You need enough people in the right places to keep things moving while taking care of the furniture and the building around you.

Working with building management

We know the building management at this property and understand the importance of organising access before moving day. That includes providing our public liability insurance documentation as required.

If you’re planning an apartment move, ask management about lift bookings, permitted moving hours and any documents your removalist needs to supply. Passing those details on early helps avoid hold-ups when the team arrives.

The right number of movers for the job

A high-rise move involves more than carrying furniture out of a truck. There’s unloading, bringing items to the lift, loading the lift, travelling upstairs and moving everything into the apartment.

Too few people can leave the team constantly catching up at one end. We plan the number of movers around the workload and the access, so each stage is properly covered.

For this Bondi Junction move, getting that balance right was an important part of keeping the job moving without rushing the handling.

Keeping the lift moving

A booked lift is valuable time. The team needs to coordinate what is ready to go upstairs and make sure there is room to receive it at the other end.

Before your move, tell your removalist about the lift booking window and any restrictions on its use. Large furniture also needs checking against the lift dimensions and doorway opening.

If something won’t fit, it’s much better to work that out beforehand than discover it with a loaded truck downstairs.

Looking after the lobby

In a well-kept apartment building, the common areas deserve just as much care as the apartment itself. Lobby furniture, walls, corners and floors all need attention as items pass through.

We take care around these shared spaces and coordinate protection requirements with building management. Keeping the route clear and moving carefully matters more than trying to squeeze past something in a hurry.

It’s also someone else’s home you’re walking through. Residents still need to get in and out while the move is happening.

A view across Sydney

The apartment’s outlook was a memorable part of this job. From the heart of Bondi Junction, the view stretched across Sydney.

But a good apartment move is about more than reaching the top. It’s about getting the furniture into place, respecting the building and making the day easier for the customer and everyone sharing those spaces.
